Trump’s "Platinum Plan" is Divisive

(Chaz Anon) In order to win over a small sliver of the African American electorate in the 2020 election, President Trump is offering up a package of economic and social reforms. The question is whether he will lose any of his far right white base in the process?

Here is a list of what the President is proposing:

  • Prosecute the Klan as a terrorist organization.

  • Make lynching a national hate crime.

  • Make Juneteenth a federal holiday.

  • Expand the First Step Act by “continuing to make historic improvements in the criminal justice system.” More hardened black criminals will be let out of prison.

  • Replace the “failing public schools” with school choice so that more black kids can attend the private schools that White parents pay for because the public schools were ceded to them decades ago.

  • $500 BILLION DOLLARS in capital for Black communities.

  • $40 BILLION for black contractors.

First of all, Is the KKK even a real threat to black Americans in 2020? It seems to me the only people getting lynched are Jussie Smollett and Bubba Wallace, and that is only in their victim obsessed minds. But, perhaps the computer algorithms at Cambridge Analytica told the GOP this would be a statistically beneficial move.

It’s kinda sad to see Trump and the GOP play “identity politics” in favor of preserving the traditional American way of life, which promotes equality and freedom. While I want to see the black community prosper, offering to invest $500 billion dollars in the black community exclusively seems like a divisive tactic out of the Democrats playbook.

And don’t get me started on making Juneteenth a federal holiday! That is pandering at it’s finest, and a gesture that most African Americans will barely give a second thought about.

I do support criminal justice reform, specifically for those who are in prison for drug related offenses, but lets not get too crazy and let out hardened criminals who will likely be repeat offenders.

I absolutely love school choice for everyone, and was hoping the president would make this an issue in his re-election bid.

And lastly, I’m completely against allocating capital for specific racial demographics, which seems to me like a pretty bad idea, and honestly quite racist. The President is showing some of his old democratic “colors” with the platinum plan.

Black Lives Matters has been terrorizing the country for the past four months, yet the President hasn’t really done anything except tweet about it, likely because he doesn’t want to offend the small percent of black voters that he is pandering to with this plan.

He did designate Antifa a “domestic terrorist organization” but that predictably went nowhere. Extremist factions of Antifa and BLM are still out there terrorizing Americans in most major US cities.

So is the Platinum Plan good for America? No, because it’s just another tactic that divides (and conquers) the American people into various tribes in order to control the nation from the top down. And that being said, White populists, nationalists, and conservatives are going to vote for Trump no matter what he does or doesn’t do for them…what other choice do they have? Biden?
