Arizona GOP Chairman Caught on Tape Trying to Bribe Kari Lake

(Chaz Anon) Arizona GOP Chairman Jeff DeWit resigned after leaked audio went viral revealing that he attempted to bribe Kari Lake into not running for Senate. DeWit criticized the recording of the audio, claiming it was a "deceptive tactic" and a "selectively edited audio recording." He also appeared to suggest that legal action may be taken.

"In light of the recent revelation that Kari Lake has released a selectively edited audio recording of our private conversation, I must clearly address this deceptive tactic," he said. "The recording, from over ten months ago, is not only taken out of context but also undermines the integrity of private discussions critical for party leadership." "The ethical breach in her recording of our conversation, while Lake was my employee, raises serious legal and moral concerns."

DeWit said he is resigning because Lake reportedly has even more "damaging" recordings.

Dewit was caught on tape saying, "There are very powerful people who want to keep you out,".

At one point during the secret recording, Lake was asked to name her "number."

DeWit: "Just say, is there a number at which..." Lake: "I can be bought? That's what it's about." DeWit: "You can take a pause for a couple of years. You can go right back to what you're doing."

Lake: "This is not about money, it's about our country."
